You’ll drive your own dog team, discover frozen landscapes, share homemade meals, relax in the sauna and experience Lapland at a slower pace.

Every day brings something different, while leaving space to simply enjoy where you are.

Feel at home in Lapland

Stay in a traditional wooden house close to Lake Kitka. Enjoy homemade food, evenings by the fire, the sauna and the simple pleasure of returning to a peaceful place after a day outside.

A typical week of your winter stay

Every week is slightly different depending on the weather, snow conditions and your group.

Here’s what a typical week with O’Nordic could look like.

Welcome in Kuusamo/Rovaniemi

Transfer from Kuusamo or Rovaniemi airport to Posio. Check-in at your accommodation.
Shared dinner on the evening of your arrival, where we’ll go over the activity schedule for the week.

Dog sledding and cani-hiking in Lapland: an unforgettable day

Start your day with a hearty breakfast, then head to the O’Nordic camp.
Meet the dogs and discover the place, then learn how to drive your own sled team with essential safety tips.
Drive through stunning lakes and forests, then enjoy a relaxing moment with the dogs, followed by grilled food and warm drinks in the O’Nordic kota.

In the afternoon, go for a snowshoe cani-hike with one of our non-sled dogs, like one of our retired companions.
End the day with a relaxing sauna session at your accommodation.

Explore Riisitunturi National Park: hike and frozen tree sculptures

Come discover the stunning frozen tree formations, known as “Tykky”, in Riisitunturi National Park.
Our guided hike will take you through the boreal forest, offering breathtaking views of Lake Kitka.
Enjoy this unique day immersed in nature, with a warm and friendly lunch break around the fire — a perfect moment to share stories and good vibes with the group.

Animal day

Visit and walk with reindeer. In full immersion with a local herder, you’ll be surrounded by reindeer as you feed them their favorite treats.

Later that day, you can enjoy an excursion with Finnish horses !

Ranua Wildlife Park

We’ll visit Ranua Zoo, which focuses on Arctic and Nordic species, with around 150 animals.
The visit takes place during a 3 km walk. Keep your eyes open to spot them all!

Dog sledding adventure: round two

Start another exciting day with a second sled dog experience.
Now that you’re more confident, you’ll enjoy driving your own team even more, across the vast frozen Lake Kitka.

In the afternoon, enjoy some free time or choose from additional options like ice fishing or a snowshoe hike to enrich your adventure.

Transfer back to Kuusamo/Rovaniemi airport

This marks the end of a beautiful week filled with emotions, memories, and adventure.
