Our story
It all began with the adoption of Sultan, our first husky from a shelter, back in 2017. A few months later, we set off on a road trip through the Nordic countries—an experience that changed our lives forever. A new horizon opened up to us.
After working in various sled dog operations, we finally took the leap to pursue our dream and settled in Finnish Lapland.
Combining passion, love, teamwork, and complementarity, O’Nordic was founded in 2022. Our goal is to welcome you into this unique setting and share the beauty of this stunning region with you.

Passionate about animals, travel, and dogs since childhood, I couldn’t imagine living without them around me—they’ve always been a constant presence. After spending a winter season in the Alps following our studies in ecology and biology—where Mehdi and I met—I decided to adopt my first dog, a husky who would follow us on all our adventures.
I had only a brief description of Sultan from the shelter where he had spent two years without being adopted. It wasn’t easy at first, but he quickly became part of the storm that transformed our lives. Eager for adventure, hikes, and new discoveries, I dreamed of a place where I could truly thrive—surrounded by wide open spaces and untouched wilderness.
We chose to explore the world of sled dogs, something I’d long been drawn to, in Finland and Sweden. After several experiences as a handler and guide, we decided Finland was where we wanted to continue our journey—together with our beloved Nordic dogs.

A nature and wide-open spaces enthusiast, I completed a master’s degree in sustainable development and wildlife conservation in 2015. Passionate about travel and adventure, it was during our road trip that I fell head over heels for the Nordic countries—and especially Lapland. For the first time, I saw a place I could truly call home.
Together with Mailys, I trained in the world of sled dogs, working as a dog handler and guide in several sled dog companies.

Sultan, adopted from a shelter in France at the age of 5, was our first Alaskan Husky. After settling in Posio, we gradually welcomed more Alaskan Huskies into our lives—each with their own story, or from a young age like Nimi. With us, they continue their adventures and share their joyful spirit every day.
After Sultan, we turned to the Yakutian Laika—a breed both recent and ancient in its origins. Native to the extreme climate of Yakutia, these dogs were traditionally used for sled pulling, hunting, herding reindeer, and also as loyal companions.
